Creativity in 100 words

Creativity is often falsely romanticised as the ability to instantaneously conjure something original, beautiful and fully formed from the dark depths of one’s mind. Creativity is in fact the arduous and meticulous process of facing a problem and finding a hitherto undevised solution. It’s finding the freedom to self-express within the barriers of the medium. Producing something new enough to excite but familiar enough to resonate. It’s the sustained application of a mind that refuses to be seduced by that which already is, but which dreams of what could be. It’s inventing the wheel. Then deciding to add another three.
